Outlook stuck updating inbox
They aren't the only ones that had it, but none of the "simple" accounts had any problems, only the ones with several mailboxes/calendars.
The only fix we could find was either disable caching like you said, or wipe their Windows profile and have them start over, which many did not want to do.
In general, Outlook will indeed display which folder it is currently synching in the Status Bar.
When it is not, it usually is synching additional mailbox information and data such as the folder hierarchy, Views or Quick Steps.
I have not had a chance to test because my focus is on restoring connectivity ASAP but I imagine if the user would log into another machine that would work fine too. EDIT: I think this problem is resolved, although since it is so intermittent it may be a while before I'm sure.
MTU was set to 1514 on the Exchange server rather than the typical 1500.
No new mail activities or even download progress on Inbox, but the other folders at least updating upon selecting. It also only displays “To monitor Outlook’s synching processing more closely, you can open the Microsoft Exchange Connection Status dialog. To do this, hold CTRL when clicking on the Outlook icon in the Notification Area and then select Connection Status…The migration went relatively smoothly, but I am running into an issue where a few people are having intermittent Outlook 2010 client connectivity issues. They will open up Outlook in the morning, it will say "Connected to Microsoft Exchange" and "Updating inbox" or "Updating this folder", but new emails will not be downloaded.
